ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Malu Oliver is a regional cuisine restaurant located in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, that celebrates the traditional flavors and emotional memories of Northeastern Brazil. The visual identity project was designed to evoke a deep sense of regional authenticity and nostalgia.
The aesthetic approach relies heavily on cobogós — traditional Brazilian architectural elements — used here as ornamental motifs that not only decorate but also symbolize cultural memory. These patterns reference the facades and interiors of classic Northeastern homes, creating a visual narrative that connects past and present.
The bold typography, paired with vibrant and earthy tones, is enriched by the green of cilantro leaves, a key symbol of regional cuisine, which brings a fresh and organic feel to the identity. Additionally, the colorful tile-inspired grid reinforces the rich diversity of local culture through geometric harmony.
This project seeks to translate the soul of Northeastern gastronomy into a visual experience — one that is both familiar and unique, rooted in tradition but designed to captivate contemporary audiences.
